My favorite Subject

My favorite subject this semester is basic psychological processes. I really enjoy study for this subject. In classes we talk about the texts we have to read and we discuss it. Maybe the way that the class develops doesn't like me very much (In epistemology we sit on a circle and we put our names in our tables and we discuss the topic, I think it is more fun), but the contents are really interesting. My favorite is attachment theory, this theory says that the relation with your parents (or the main caregivers) in you infance is very important for your development as a person. Another reason because I like this subject, is because the works. The teacher ask us to work in groups (5 or 6 members) and the task is to answer the questions relative to the contents of the classes and to apply in in an interview to a person (but this is optional), I enjoy doing this.
In addition of the contents and the way of work, I like this subject because tryes to explain the human behavior through the motivation and the interior needs, and because emphasizes in the importance of the human relations.

Google Scholar

When I have to do my works and I need references, information about the topic, investigations, etc. I go to Google Scholar, it is not the only one, I use Scielo too, but Google Scholar is my favorite, because you just put the keywords on the seeker and that's all!, many information, like papers and investigations appear instantly. The information can be ordered by date and you can choose a time interval if you need a particular time for your references. I usually use this site, everytime I have to work on an investigation project... I think every week I open this site. It is very useful. By other hand, Scielo, that it is a page like scholar, not always have correct information, you can't trust at all in the investigation details that gives you Scielo, instead in Scholar you get reliable resources.
I really recommended! It is helpful, fast, and efficient. If you can use it for your works, this is the link https://scholar.google.es/
See you !

About Movies

I often used to rent DVD's on Blockbusters, but I don't know what happened to it. One day I wanted to rent a movie and the store had disappeared...  maybe it went bankrupt. In Blockbuster, my sister used to ask for horror movies and I hated it, because who likes to feel fear?, Well, not to me, I can't enjoy feeling nervous and afraid all the time because you think that you are going to die or some phantom is going to appears or stuff like that. I just can't stand horror films. On the other hand, my favourite kind of movies are comedies. I like to laugh, it is good for health too. One of my favourite comedy actors is Jim Carrey, I think he makes really good comedies. I can't choose one, but some of his movies that I like are "Liar Liar", "Yes man", "Bruce almighty", "Me, myself and Irene", "Fun with Dick and Jane", among others movies. But my favourite films is not a comedy one, I could say that a movie that I really love is "Amelie", a french movie that it was directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet and starring Audrey Tautou. This movie is about a different girl (she is really weird, but in the good way) and one day she discovered that the sense of her life is improve the other people's life. I have seen like twice, is a wonderful movie, I recommended it!
A movie that I recently see is Seven pounds (I would see it again) is starring by Will Smith. I think that the message is beautiful, it invites to you to think about your own and other's life. I like that kind of movies.

The fall of a meteorite

I like to take photographs, It is one of my hobbies. I used to have a camera a Sony a300, it was a really good one. My parents gave me for one of my birthdays, regrettably this camera failed and I took to a technical service but it was too expensive to fix it. Nowadays I only used my phone to take photos, but really I miss my sophisticated camera. It was perfect to take best photographies.
This photo took it my mom, it was on September holidays of last year. We went to a tour in Puerto Viejo, Caldera, it is in Atacama region (is a wonderful place to know, I recommend it) and this photo shows the fall of a meteorite, well... people said that, but I don't know if it is real. Anyway, I think that this place was so interesting and so beautiful too, so a photo was a great idea to immortalize it and, by this way, remember it.

Music in my life

Music in my life is important, I listening to music when I wake up, in my travel to university, when I come back to my house, when I'm  in my home. I do it everyday. And when my headphones doesn't works I really get bored all of the day or the weekend if I cant buy new ones, but I can't stand being much time without listening to music. The music genre that I like it is pop, rock, latinoamerican music, hip hop, jazz, instrumental one and recently new genres has been added to my preferences like afrobeat and chanson. The most of the music that I listen it is in English, I don't know why, I like other languages and I think that it's a good way to learn about them. Particularly I dislike (and sometimes hate) reggaeton, I think that the content in this songs are shallows and rude.
In spite of my love for music, I don't know how to play any musical instrument, but I would like to play piano or accordion, because for me the sounds created by this instruments express so much and it sounds sweet and harmonious. I like to singing too, but I must confess that I don't do it very well.
The world without music would be lost, even dead, I mean music express things that words can't explain, it has the power of make us feel better or worse if we want. I considered it like an other language, an essential one.

The greatest invention

My favourite piece of technology, definitely, it is the notebook. I had my first computer (it was a desk one) when I was 8-9, I don't remember it well, but I started as a source of entertainment when I was 10. I remember that in that age I created my first facebook, fotolog and habbo's account (I really loved this game), I used it for playing in internet the most of the time and for searching information for school tasks. I replace that computer desk for the notebook, because it is more comfortable; you can carry it to everywhere and you can do many fun things, like watching movies and series (Netflix it is my new addiction), you can also use it for listening to music and finding new songs, to communicate with other people no matter where they are, I use it for working the most of the time (university task), it is a necessity to have a notebook for studying, I think.
I use it everyday, it is essential for me, but now I am thinking of getting a new notebook, because my actual notebook is slow and big, so I would like something faster and smaller.
My life without a notebook would be boring, really boring and it would take me more time to do my homework and searching for information (because in the internet this is instantaneous). The notebook it is the greatest invention, in my opinion.

What to do with my life?

Have you ever wanted to be an astronaut? Well, I wanted to be one when I was 6. Then I started to think about Medicine, that was the moment when my philanthropic spirit was born: I wanted to go to Africa and work as a volunteer. I just let it be my imagination, after that I chose medicine like the profession that I wanted to learn. This dream lost its intensity as time passed. In 2015, when I was at senior year in the school,  I faced my reality and I questioned to myself if it being a doctor it was what I really wanted. I mean, choose what you want to dedicate part of your life has some importance, and in spite of you won't dedicate all your life doing the same thing (because I wish to do many things during my life) doesn't mean that you will choose  anything. Finally, I threw away the opcion about medicine, because it called my attention but didn't fascinate me. So I opened my mind after 11 years and I considered other options, like psychology. I think this was because of my fascination about philosophy and the curiosity motivated by my interest in our minds and why we do the things that we do.
My experience at university it has been good until now, I have met many people, learnt many new things. I really enjoy it, in spite of the few hours that I sleep and the many things that I have to read.
In the future I would like to combinate my work and my knowledge with travel around the world. I don't know how, but it's something that I really want to do. I hope this don't became in a innocent and naive wish like my first wishes about what to dedicate my life in my childhood.

About me

Let me tell you a little bit about myself: My name is Camila, I was born in 1998 (so I am 18 years old) in Santiago, Chile, I grew up in the same city. I have 2 sisters, they are younger than me, their names are Valentina and Estrella and I live with both of my parents, Claudia and Gabriel. I spent my childhood playing with barbies (I loved playing with dolls), playing with my sister and other children, watching cartoons, painting, I had a good childhood, with no worries, just being happy. I was in many schools: First grade at Colegio Haydn, Second grade at Colegio Rosario Concha, third grade at Colegio San Javier, fourth grade at Colegio Juan Francisco Fresno, Fifth, sixth and seventh grade at Colegio Rosario Concha School again, eighth and ninth grade at Colegio Divina Pastora and, finally, I completed my secondary education in Liceo Augusto D'halmar. Being in different schools helped me to know different people and realities, it was fun and enriching. Nowadays I am studying psychology at Universidad de Chile, I'm at the first year and I really like what I'm learning.
About my hobbies: I love listening to music and new songs; I like meeting new people; I like hanging out with my friends; I love learning different languages; I enjoy playing cards; I like writing things about my daily life, prose and poems; I like reading good books, those who talk about an interesting story (I don't have a especial kind of book that I enjoy); I like musical instruments, particularly piano, but I really don't know how to play any of them well; I enjoy good food, especially the vegetarian kind (I was a vegetarian for 2 years, but currently I am not); I like candies, especially chocolate; I love  watching movies; and I love travelling, since I was 15 years old I go backpacking with friends every summer to different places in Chile and I hope to go travelling around the world soon.
